SADNESS: My Friend

Sadness, my dear friend, is my safety net

Its tentacle layers welcome and hide me

The cruel world therefore sees me no more

I am immune from its pain and harshness

For I have chosen to die in numbness

With my sadness to save me from harm always

Happiness is a true cunning goddess

It sucks out the soul as it treats it with care

Happiness took me so high, when I looked

The ground was so far below, I was amazed

That all I could do was fall to my death

No wonder Valentine, happy in love, died

But sadness caught me and showed me kindness

Pressurized me to look at all my options

To lift the blindfold of my happiness

As it numbed the effects of my cheer days
