Largely inspired by my family who had given me life, laughter, then tears.

It was the first beat of my heart

that marked the beginning

of my life,

with you - Dad and Mom.

It was the first drop of tears

That expressed my appreciation

for you have given me the chance

to discover life

both the good and bad.

It was the first slight curve of my lips, upwards

When my eyes lost focus

overwhelmed by the only ignited candle on the birthday cake

it was my first birthday.

It was the first step I took

Seeing how clumsy I was

It was just a single step

That made you both jump in joy

Those priceless sparkles of those teeth

Burst me into tiny laughter.

It was the first time my lips cracked into words

I love you

Remembering how those mesmerizing eyes welled with tears

I laugh.

I miss those moments.

It is the first time me giving up

No longer seeing much hope

When it's thorn, it's already thorn...

When will be the next time

You both gaze at me,

filled with love and care

warmth and tenderness

like how you did when you raised me up?

When will be the next time

I slow down my pace

Get my earphones off

and say

those three magical words again?

Will those three words still be magical?

Pa, Ma, I miss those moments.

Just one more second

is more than enough

to immortalize my happiness.

I love you.
