So long ago
Six days it took
Then on the seventh
God stopped to look

To see the wonders
So fast, he’d made
All the beauty
On Earth he’d laid

So perfect it was
A beauty divine
Until the forbidden
The two could not decline

They ate of the tree
It opened their eyes
They saw wrong and right
Because of Satan’s disguise

Thus sin was born
The world changed
Sweat and pain
Was the exchange

It didn’t end there
Sin kept running around
Till Cain murdered Abel
Blood seeped into the ground

Sin was taking over
Somehow it had to stop
So God made a decision
And the rain began to drop

Just one family was saved
Because they had stayed true
It was they who got the task
Of gathering the animals two by two

Forty days and forty nights
The rain just poured and poured
Until one day arrived at last
Their patience not ignored

Not till six months later
Was the Earth considered dry
A promise God rewarded
A beautiful rainbow in the sky

The world became full
People were everywhere
They built a temple-tower
To reach God’s highest chair

Angry He became
He could not let this start
Languages became separate
And the tower torn apart

The world still was wicked
God needed a people all his own
He went to righteous Abram
“As the father of nations, you will be known”

They made up a contract
Then God gave him a son
Sweet little Isaac
The promised one

A few years later
A horrid test came
“Sacrifice your only son
In honor of My holy name”

Was the challenge
God gave to him do
Abraham passed the test
To the Lord he had stayed true

Thus started mighty Israel
A nation grand indeed
A whole new beginning
For God to plant His seed

So, in the beginning
God created Genesis
A brand new world
With both misery and bliss

A new plan formed
A chance to start again
To escape the horrors
Brought on by sin

For those who believe
Paradise awaits
For those who don’t
They will find Hell’s gates
