BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Flying high over mountains in the sky are birds

Each one of a different kind

There are blue jays and sparrows

Robins and woodpeckers

Each one a different type

The blue jay so small

The sparrow so sweet

The robins are red

The woodpeckers peck

Each little bird with such an amazing view

Of the world and of us people

And how do they spot their wormy little breakfast?

Each little bird of a feather has his own song to sing

The blue jay sings happily a song of spring

The robin sings so sadly a song of winter

The woodpecker just takes that beak of his and pecks out a tune

With each of them singing their short, sweet lullaby

We sit and wait in winter to hear their songs come back

Oh, how small and innocent they all are

With beaks so sharp and alert

They are birds of different kind, but when joined together they are Birds of a Feather

To sit near a neat little nest

With little singing chicks

The world could be no better than this
