Her head bowed

Unable to look

His eyes averted

Unable to see

The rain lashes

Driven by the gale

Her hair now nothing

But a tangled mess

Lightning flashes

Off to the East

He pulls his collar up

Against the night

They pass each other

Both alone - yet together

The dark unites them

But chance does not
