This is a true story of a neighbor's dog. I might just call the RSPCA. It cries... everyday while it is chained up! (It is over a big fence so I cannot see it, but it is a big dog).

People always say, "A dog is a man's best companion"
It should not be worn as an accessory, or held like a trophy
Would you treat it like you would a black stallion?
Give love and attention, make it feel twice as worthy

Now, this poor dog that I hear howling, day and night
As if it talks of its deep and weary sorrows
It drags around its bowl endlessly until it brings me to fright
Then it whines for someone to free it soon, if not tomorrow?

Animals can sense fear and pain just by looking into their eyes
This cat of mine tries to tell me of the dog's sadness
As it sits by the window, then turns back giving out big sighs
Really does not take a genius to wish away this madness

The chains rustle while the bowl tosses over, again
Its constant whinging and howling melts my broken heart
I question in my head, "Will someone free it from pain?"
Then I think - if one day it starts to get quiet...
(I will wish in hope that it did not depart!)
