The sun was beginning to set
It was the first time we met
Ice cream stained faces
and those evening chases
when I fell in my dress from a flee
and scrapped my knee
I didn't want you to leave
so you said to me
'I'll never leave, you're royalty'
I took it with a smile
after all we were of a child

We arrived together at a summer dance
and with me you took a chance
me in my beautiful dress
you also dressed in your best
As the night came to an end
you took my hand
I did not want you to leave
so you said to me
'I'll never leave, you look like my royalty'
we turned and out lips met
You were the best I bet

Our summer turned to fall
our kids had grown to be so tall
through the time
our flying kites
not to mention our midnight fights
I did not want you to leave.
so you said to me
'i'll never leave my queen, you're still my one and only'
even after all we've been through
I would never want to leave you

Our fall turned to winter as it led
I sit next to your sleeping bed
you start to leave me
And I plead
'stay with me!'
you looked at me with your bright eyes as I weep
'I'm not leaving, I'm just going back to my king'
I squeezed your hand as your final breath you took
'Goodbye my princess, I'll be everywhere you look'
with tear filled eyes I take it with a smile
"Goodbye my love, I'll see you in a little while'
