ADAM - THE FALLEN.

We were so very Happy there in Eden,
For the time that we Obeyed God's Request.
He Met our needs so Bountifully,
We were Treated like Honoured Guests.
We stayed away from the tree in the centre of The Garden,
At God's Behest!

He'd Said that if we ate of it,
We would surely die...
We weren't really sure what He meant by that,
But His Tone Spoke of something we didn't want to try!
So... we contented ourselves with all that we could have...
And the days sped Happily by!

Then came for us a sad, sad day,
When a serpent twisted what God had Said.
Cleverly he turned the words
Around in Eve's head...
"If you eat from that tree, you will be like God, knowing good and evil,
you surely will not end up dead?"

She ate of the fruit,
And offered me some as well.
I recognized where it came from immediately,
But truth to tell...
I din't care, I wanted to be like God, to HAVE ALL KNOWLEDGE,
And my innocence I was happy to sell!

People blame Eve continually,
But MY sin is my own - I could so easily have said, "No!"
She couldn't force me to do her will...
God Came into The GArden, but our nakedness we were scared to show.
God Realized what had happened, real pain was in His Voice,
He Clothed us with skins, then Said, "Out of Eden you must go!"
