DADDY.  (A Letter Poem)

Daddy,

You Wrote me a letter long ago, full of wonderful stories of ordinary people.  People who made mistakes, people who did terrible things, people who thought that their lives were over!  Yet... they made a difference in the world!  They changed the course of history!

What enabled them to change?  What helped them to surprise even themselves?  What shook them into action?  What kept them going against all the odds?  How did You even Know who to choose?  Why did You bother?  Was it really worth it - considering the human race has not exactly improved with the passing of time?  How many Tears have You Shed at the injustices carried out in Your Name?

Do You Know what really intrigues me?  How You manage to Breath Life into The Words on the pages!  How no one today is exeriencing anything that isn't dealt with in the pages of Your Book!  How You can Reach into our lives today and Give Hope, Encouragement and Your Way out of present trouble, or difficulties!  Through it You have turned so many lives around, whole nations have been Given new Hope through the ages.

So many, many people deny Your Existence, so many would rather oblivion lay behond death's door!  How sad... how very sad... to prefer nothingness to being filled with Your Love and Your Presence.  How tragic that the excesses of this world blind so many to The Beauty and Peace of Heart available through Jesus.

I for one am so grateful that my life IS Held within Your Hand, that You Wrote Your Book for me and Breathed Life into it and me by Your Holy Spirit!

You Wrote it for Hitler, for Sadam Hussein, for Idi Amin, as You also sent Jesus and The Holy Spirit for each one of us - and if only one lost soul came Home to You, You'd be Content!

Love,

Margi
