EVE - THE FALLEN.

How could I do it...
How could I do it... HOW COULD I?
How could I fall...
For a lie so sly?
Why did I listen?
Why... oh why... oh WHY?

The serpent said, "You surely shall not die?"
Twisting what God said, in my head!
Adam and I were not sure what it meant...
Because we had never seen anything in Eden that was dead!
We'd simply obeyed God,
Because we loved Him, not because we lived in dread.

But... the fruit looked SO lovely...
So, I took a bite.
It really did taste wonderful,
The best in all of Eden alright!
I turned to offer some to Adam...
It gave me SUCH a fright!

We'd laughed... and loved... and worked... and played...
Thinking nothing of our bodily state!
Suddenly... I couldn't meet his gaze...
I noticed how different was my mate!
Adam took the fruit... and ate of it like me...
As he looked at me... he realized his mistake too late!

God was Calling us by name...
To spend our time with Him!
We hid in the bushes...
In a hope that was SO slim...
It really was a sad, sad day, as He Made us clothes and He did Say, "You have to go, you cannot stay!"
Tears were in His Eyes on that day SO grim!
