Majestic, craggy mountains, dressed in purple heather...

Majestic, craggy mountains, dressed in purple heather...
Eagles soaring ever higher in the fine spring weather!
Lambs are gamboling... running... jumping... having so much fun...
The shepherd tends his flock, such a busy season has begun!
Banks of bonny primroses gaily nod their heads as trains go by,
Carrying happy holidaymakers towards the Isle of Sky!

Lochs strung around the country... like a necklace...
Sparkling saphires and amethysts show no finer face!
Surrounded by grass as green as any emeralds rare,
Such a beautiful land, its grace and beauty so fair!
It has a touching poingnancy... when mists swirl all around...
Centuries of history beckon as so many sightseers have found!

Tiny hamlets... lonely crofters' cottages... provide a solitude sublime...
Giving a taste... to busy folks visiting... a chance to step outside of time!
Busy towns and cities offer fun and shops galore...
Even more history abounds for visitors to explore!
In every glen delights are found, all that nature can provide,
So many hearts have found a home in which they can reside!

The tossing of the caber... the hunting of the deer...
Each past time draws its own followers year upon year!
Haggis, porridge, shortbread too,
So many national dishes... these are but a few!
Of course - for fame - its nectar, which has an amber hue,
Enjoys reknown across the world... whiskies - there are a few!

The tartan and the sporran... the plaintive skirl of the pipes...
The highland fling... the reel... and other dances of so many types!
Scotland's sons and daughters, through the ages, history have made,
As varied as a thistle, or a fawn hiding in a glade!
God made so much variety, within this lovely land,
So when you visit - stop - and see The Creation of His Hand!
