MARY - THE FALLEN!

I was a happy little girl, running, skipping, roaming free...
Happy days of long ago, childhood days, when nothing troubled me!
"Such a beauty!"  Grown-ups would say, but what did I care if I could play all day?
Time SEEMED to go slowly, yet... the years went flying by...
It SEEMED I was suddenly a woman -without even having to try!
Women now SEEMED jealous, men were - overzealous!
Confused and frightened, I didn't know what to do,
I wanted a husband,
a home and children too.
To shy to fight off advances,
Each day I took my chances!
Struggling to stay alive,
Having to watch others thrive!
Then... I was caught,
all came to naught!
As they dragged me down the street
and threw me at His Feet...

Angry voices faded away, as I heard Him Say...
"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone!"
It was Said in such a Gentle Tone...
As He Wrote in the dirt on the ground,
How my frightened heart within my breast did pound!
Time stood still as silence filled the air,
My eyes downcast - I felt His Gaze upon my hair.
Timidly, my eyes looked up into such a Beautiful Face,
With Eyes that Shone, with a Love for me, Full of Purity and Grace.
"Go, My child - and sin no more!"  He Bid me to depart
Simple Words, Filled with His Love... like a butterfly's wings they Touched my heart!
