What my garden means to me!

My garden is a bombsite...
Over run by weeds!
Projects started lovingly...
Left unfinished... by more pressing needs!

Roses flower in the front part,
Surrounded by fuchsias and Love-in-a-Mist.
Dandelion clocks and daisies and clover,
Growing boldly alongside, by the same sun kissed!

The back represents a jungle,
Where our kittens love to play!
Some birds still do venture here...
Though not as many I'm sad to say!

Our daughters love pretending they work for T.V.,
To do a garden 'makeover' just for me!
They work enthusiastically trying to stake a claim,
But the weeds SEEM to spread unrelentingly!

Yet... the plaque on the wall in my garden -
Written so long ago by Dorothy Gurney...
It's true, I feel surrounded by God's Heart here!
It's MY taste of Eternity!

In the early morning the birds call,
As the sun rises slowly in the sky...
By noon it's drying my washing,
As I sit under a tree and have a cup of tea by and by!

In the evening it's an oasis away from the Tele,
When God Speaks to my soul...
I close my eyes.. and the wind in the trees...
Brings the sound of the sea to call!

In my mind, it's a riot of colour,
With never a weed in sight!
It's God's Gift to me,
So why should I care if others think "What a fright!"
