NOAH.

I was just an ordinary man,
when The LORD God Walked the earth.
He Saw the rottenness all around,
the depravity and cursing gave Him no reason for mirth.
No one cared to give Him the time of day... let alone worship -
so... He Decided it was time for rebirth!

I loved The LORD and followed Him,
so did my family and wife.
I worshipped Him with all my heart,
though our neighbours jeered and caused me strife.
The LORD Came and Talked to me,
Offering me the chance of new life!

He Said that He Would Flood the earth,
to kill each Creation He had Made.
Then He Told me in detail how to build an ark,
so... I did as I was bade.
A hundred years it took us, finally it was done,
we went on board and God Closed the door, all else was drowned!

We'd followed God's Instructions
and taken with us two of every kind.
Male and female of every living thing,
each that He'd Assigned.
For forty days and forty nights,
the rains poured down, no dry land could we find!

Then... just as suddenly the rains stopped,
the sun began to show.
In time a dove brought back an olive branch,
we knew it was time to go!
"Ne'er again will I Flood the earth!" Said God,
in the sky - to remind Him of His Promise - He Set a rainbow!
