SCOTLAND THE BRAVE!

The kilt swings high to the skirl of the pipes,
as the feet fly over crossed swords!
The bonnet sports a proud feather,
just as in the days of invasion by heathen hoards!
The sporran and the tartan
were feared by enemy bands...
The sight of lifted clamours sent some of them scurrying
back to their own lands!
Double-headed axes finished the job off,
weilded with screaming precision as they were held aloft!

From Iona came Columba,
bringing Christianity in his wake.
He and his followers preached The Gospel...
and the heathen hold did break!
Aiden too carried on God's Work,
coming from Lindisfarne -
And taking it
to towns and hillside farms!
Down through the ages,
The Message has grown and in so many hearts The Seed was deeply sown!

Then...
from the highlands
to lands far away...
Have gone Words of Peace and Love
to other folks for many a day!
Like the tiny heather,
growing and spreading,
over the ground.
The Love of Jesus Holds Fast...
and continues to Spread around!

The enemy of God has tried SO hard
to quench Scotland's Christian Fire!
Through centuries of plot and hate,
he's dragged it through the mire!
Yet... still The Flame burns brightly -
like beacons on each hill!
The failure of his nasty plans
must be a bitter pill!
He'll keep on trying
till Jesus' Return...

But...
always...
somewhere...
Jesus' Light will Burn!
In every walk of life,
Jesus has The Power to Save...
so...
that hearts will be...
Forever Free...
in Scotland The Brave!
