The hour was late...

The hour was late,
The air was cold and still...
The moon hung in the air,
With clouds and stars the rest of the sky did fill!

A hunting owl's poignant cry,
As it swept over the land near by...
To catch its dinner where e'er it could,
A mouse, perhaps, or possibly a larger creature, too slow to run and unable to fly!

A deer attempting to find some grass,
Lifted its head as the owl flew past...
It stood silent and graceful, sniffing the air,
Ready for flight... should it sense a hunter's scent in the wind's icy blast!

A cottage nestled in the shadow of a hill,
Cast light across the snow lying all around...
Happy voices... carols were sung... food and fun shared abundantly,
Christmas had come once again... and Jesus Entered into the reseptive hearts He Found!
