This is an experiment: my first try with iambic pentameter. It's a double entendre: you can see it as if the subject is the Earth or as if a person is being talked to. It's my first try, so be gentle.

The world turns whether you're on it or not

Cold on the outside, the inside is hot

To all of them, you are as cold as stone

You don't even talk to them on the phone

And so nobody calls you anymore

Either you hurt them or you're just a bore

You have hurt and you've been hurt in return

You're so sad, and on the inside you burn

Emotions tumble as you are falling

Out there you're silent, inward you're bawling

You ran out of topics to talk about

Or maybe they all just stopped listening

You might look like you've got something to say

It's just the eyeliner and cloudy day

They're frightening to you, you cannot speak

All those lies about you must have been leaked

Etched into the vein of despair you are

Why'd all the gladness have to go away so far

They've turned their backs, why shouldn't you turn yours

They've overstretched you, slammed all windows and doors

Cold on the outside, the inside is hot

The world turns whether you're on it or not
