Depression of boy on the back of a man

Drowning in the cold sweat running down his back

Growing too old for the man to stand

Waiting around for the man to crack.

The man isn’t afraid and doesn’t want to fight

Down on the ground holding onto his light

No tears, no hate for those who mock him

For him its comfort to sit on the rim

Tied down to the fort he once grew up in.

Now he is grown and tired, feels like a geezer

But he’s still young, a bit of a teaser

He just wants a reason to go out a play

But its home he feels safer to stay.

To sail away is the dream of the boy

An idea, a belief, a metaphor, a toy

The smile of the man is sad and coy

Forever connected to the dream of a boy
