Dad always took me out for milkshakes on friday nights. Just me and him. We would talk about school and my love of science. I loved it. My brother wasnt there to annoy me and it was just us. This friday, there would be no milkshakes because dad is in Texas and I am in New york. I dreaded Today when I woke up. I draged myself through school and couldnt focus in science. I barely talked to my friends during lunch. I walked home to the empty house and waited for mom and Nico. I texted dad telling him how much I would miss him. My I phone never got a response. Nico got home and rambled on about school like he would to dad. Mom got home and made dinner. I ate silently. An hour before Dad would take me for milkshakes, Mom gave me some money. Her words"Go get a milkshake! Your dad is not busy". I think it was cue but i ran down to the polar parlor and called dad. I franticly told him to get on skype and find a milkshake. He complied. My melancoly face became elated. We sipped our milkshakes on skype and talked about my wek with out im. It turned out to be perfect. Milkshakes with dad.
