How I feel

Silence builds an awful wreckage of this man
It feeds on my loneliness and creates a void.
Grey shadows haunt and torment and torture
This man is stricken and destroyed

There is no sound of laughter or happiness here
Love has thrown in the towel today
Sombre, melancholy moods decay my soul
It is futile to hope, or to dream, or perhaps even pray

Emptiness builds a home inside of me
In places where hollows have now bred
A deepening sea of worthlessness consumes me
And eats away at every connecting thought

Confusion feeds like a savage inside me,
Leaving nothing that might be considered worthy remaining
Am I destined to walk through life in this way?
Alone, exiled, different and discarded
