I walk in these crowded halls

every single day.

There are people that i know

There are people that

I haven't even met.

A tear slips from my eye.

So many don't know me.

The real me

not the girl I pretend to be.

Every one knows me

as the nerd

the great speaker

the brave girl,

and so many other things.

But part of me

only few know.

The part of me

that is all alone

The part of me that is sacred.

No one believes me

when I say that I am sad.

After all

I always have a smile on my face.

I always laugh and make jokes.

But my laughter hides my sorrow

and pain.

I pretend to be brave

because that is what

every one expects of me.

I am the one to lean on.

Because I stand for all

but myself.

But every once in a while

I wish

to lean on someone.
