ODE
Red, green, purple or yellow, shiny silky skin,
your fragrance reminds me of long gone days
far from retail issues and transgenic produce.
I feel you in my mouth like a bite of summer,
ripe fruit in the sun, perfect!
You die for I may live, while olive oil travels through
your secret passages and farthest corners.
I dreamed of you, juicy, tangy and sweet like a nap under a tree
and you waited across the Atlantic Ocean, ready to give yourself to me.
I touched you, fell in love and wanted you only;
tasting your flesh was like biting a red star,
a blast of red carnation crystals.
