CHILD WITH-IN

There is this child buried deep with-in
It wants to run and play and sing
To walk in the fountain or roll in the clover
But with an adults life the childhood is over
For life it seems is an endless line
Of what is OK at a certain time

When the child escapes and cartwheels over
It'll shuffle its feet while dancing with Rover
Roll up its trousers and walk in the fountain
Its joy is complete while it climbs that mountain
So why does it matter? Why do they stare?
Don't they let their child out anywhere?

How sad it is for the child with-in
When it's adult is too scared to follow a whim
Perhaps its life was pain and order
Never allowed to play with water
Maybe hard work was its way
It could go and play another day
