Child of the Night

Halloween had ended an hour ago.  The ghosts, witches, monsters and goblins were safely tucked in their beds.  But one lone creature of the night wandered the dark, cold streets.

The candy bag was heavy and getting heavier.  The litte arms could not hold it much longer.

Soon the little figure came to one of the many bidghes that were in the town.

The figure stopped near the middle of the bridge and then peered down onto the fast swirling water.

Ever so slowly the creature stared crawling up onto the side rail of the bridge.  Soon the creature was over the top and balanced precariously on the edge of the bridge.  It slowly turned around and maneuvered the heavy candy bag up over the bridge railing.

Casrefuly balancing the bag, the creature tied a rop around the bag, then kicked it over the edge.

down toward the swirling black water the candy and creature fell. Together they were swallowed by the night.  Then became part of it
