Night of a Thunderstorm

Thunder rumbles in the distance.
The lightning flashes.
A harsh storm is approaching.
Storm fed breeze moves across the field.
Maple branches dance with the wind.
Power goes out.
Sitting around the table by candle light.
Sharing old family stories.
Ghost stories come next,
scarring the wits out of each other.
Popping popcorn in the fireplace.
The storm raging outside.
The singing of campfire songs.
John brings out the old guitar.
Then leads in old songs.
Thunder rumbles overhead.
Little kids go to bed.
Adults sit around talking quietly.
Lighting flashes outside.
Remembering past thunder storms.
Power starts lashing back on.
Thunder has moved away.
lightning has stopped,
The wind has died down.
The most peaceful calm afterword.
