I see crimson-coloured endlessness
Flashes of infinity collapsing
Forgotten worlds jostling for space
As I look through the shadowy window
In the Castle of a Thousand Tears
Below the Chamber of Hope I so wish to enter
My life
A never-ending trek
My pockets filled
With dreams unspoken
The memory of a love buried alive
Prematurely silenced
And I scratch the surface
to find something we always knew was there
Mirrored in a primeval nebula
Which knows and holds everything
Everything we ever will be
Everything we've always been
I hear the deep sound of distant bells
Chiming out of time
Creating a dimension of their own
Syncronous with my weeping heart
The whole universe embodied in her
The whole of time coursing through my veins
And the distant rocks beyond the River of Stillness
Always out of reach
And yet so close
Darkness welcomes me
As a lifelong friend
Desolation
And an atavic longing
Blessed with a glimmer of celestial promise
Projecting me forward
Hundreds of years from now
I look so young
You still look the same
And the otherworldy purple mist is lifted at last
As the walls of my ancient castle begin to come down
And we become surrounded
By a light older
Than any star that ever was
