I saw the trees and breathed the air
So free, so young, without a care
The years passed by so fast
We never thought it wouldn't last
But in the winter's cold embrace
I felt the grief that holds time and space
For in that freezing time of year
Fell many and one icy tears
He left this world and me behind
His smile and warmth and eyes that shined
Never do i not weep
And wish for an eternal sleep
With him, safe and free
With him, forever, eternally
To do it all again would be a gift
To hold time and make it shift
I am old and memories fade
But feeling last though darken in shade
The years of youth have passed in a blink
And in shadows do i now slink
I want freedom, from this curse
Hopefully in a black plumed hearse
Death and ends i do not fear
Only grief and more than one tear
Set me free of life's dear hold
Let me die and jion the fold
God though there may be
I only want to be with he
