He Thought that he could Find Happiness

I stayed there through the long nights,

enduring all of your drug fueled fights.

When you were shaking on the floor,

because you 'couldn't take life anymore'.

I witnessed the years of unending abuse

as you dug yourself deeper; feeding a fuse.

I fought away the demons as they grew.

Even when your faith in yourself withdrew.

I protected you and took all the blame.

I looked in your eyes, I knew you were ashamed.

You become the monster by what you shot in your veins.

Now, the sun won't come out, you're in the pouring rain.

You can't even try now; you're in too deep.

You're burning yourself into a forever sleep.

It's hard to protect you. You've hit rock bottom.

There's nothing good inside of you to take from.

You're so far gone that I can't bring you back.

Why did you have to choose that track?
