Faites Moi Sortir
We got to her home in no time. It was big, the biggest house I’d ever seen. It had a beautiful entrance with a big gate and a fountain. She led me into the mansion. I almost froze at the inside; a big chandelier, paintings, flowers, chairs, marble floors, and a lovely stair-case that swirled upstairs.
“Marcie, Sebastian, Silone, come here!” Paris hollered. Three kids quickly came in and stood in a straight line. The thing is, they were all covered in what seemed like powder. Paris circled them with a serious face. “What in the world were you three doing?” She asked.
“It was their idea!” They all said at once.
Paris looked at the oldest girl. “Silone, I expect you to tell me the truth...”
She sighed and crossed her arms. “Well, Mother,” The girl started. “Marcie wanted to make you a cake so I tried to help but then Sebastian came in and dumped horse droppings in the bowl and we started to fight.”
“Sebastian...!” Parias gasped. “Is that true?!”
“Yes, ma’am...” He mumbled. “But it was Marcie that began to pour flour on my head!”
“I want all of you to go wash up, we have an important guest here today and I want y’all to be on your best behavior.” She said.
The three children looked at me as if they had never noticed me before. I couldn’t really see their faces since there was flour all over them, but from the looks of it, these kids were beautiful. They headed upstairs shoving and pushing each other while Paris led me into the kitchen.
“What a disaster!” She squealed. The whole kitchen was a mess. I squinted at something that looked like horse poop.
“I can clean it up, if you’d like, Ms. Wolt.” I suggested.
“Oh, thank you, Alison...” She smiled. Paris opened up a closet and took out a mop and a bucket. After she filled the bucket up with water, she handed it to me. “I’ll give you your uniform tomorrow, just clean this up and you’ll be able to sleep. There’s a night gown waiting for you upstairs, as well.”
“Thank you,” I sighed and began to work.
I finally finished and looked at the big clock in the living room. It was seven-thirty p.m. I stretched my arms and began to walk upstairs. There were paintings all over the walls in the hallway. I was staring at one; it was a painting of Paris and a man, probably her husband. Suddenly, I heard a thump in one of the rooms. I slowly walked towards the commotion.
Before I could try to listen to what was going on, the door busted open. Out came the boy I had seen earlier, Sebastian. Instead of being covered with flour, he was perfectly clean now, no flour, no nothing. He bumped into me and looked at me dead in the eye.
“Oh, sorry,” He apologized.
He began to walk away. Sebastian walked into a room and slammed the door behind him. That was when I fell in love, but not with him, but his eyes. His eyes were beautiful. His piercing blue eyes were so soft and steely. I loved the way it matched with his blond hair and the way they were so big. His eyes were huge, but in a good way. They made him look a protective person. They were so captivating. I could have stared into them all day if I could, but he left.
My heart nearly sank. I began to walk. “At the end of the hall, that’s where your room is at, Alison...” Paris had told me. It seemed as if the hallways never ended, and I felt so excited. My very own room, all I ever got was a dumb cell which I had to be chained to. But this was great, a room with a bed and a window.
I set my hand against the fancy door-knob and shut my eyes. When I opened the door, I nearly broke into tears. A bed, a desk, some curtains, it was perfect. I jumped into bed and immediately fell asleep.
In the morning, I opened my closet door. There was a uniform ready for me. I slipped it on, along with my shoes, and walked out of the room; it was early in the morning, six fifty-eight. I headed towards the kitchen where Paris was at.
“Oh, Alison, I’m going to be in a meeting. Do you mind cooking something for the kids and cleaning their rooms?” She told me.
“I’ll do it.” I answered her.
She clapped her hands in joy and walked out the door. I opened one of the cabinets, when suddenly; I heard a loud scream upstairs. Terrified, I headed up and knocked on the door where the scream had come from.
“Is everything alright?” I asked, hoping nothing bad had happened.
“A rat...! I can’t believe it!” Someone had said. The door opened and the oldest girl came out. “Please, kill it, now!”
I moved the hair from my face and walked in. “Where is it?” I asked.
“Why, under the bed, of course!” She yelled.
I took a peek under the bed. Sure enough, there it was. It wasn’t a rat though, it was a mouse. I quickly ran downstairs and came back with a piece of cheese. The mouse charged towards it and gobbled it up. I picked it up and took him outside, where it ran off into the garden. When I came back inside, the girl was standing right there.
“You’d better wash those hands of yours if you’re going to cook.” She scolded.
I nodded my head and headed inside to wash up. When I was done, I looked around the cabinets for food. I never really learned how to cook, so I began to panic. I took out a wooden spoon and a big bowl and looked for some kind of flour. All I could find was the used up flour bag in the trash from the mess the day before. I took out a bowl and a spoon and nervously looked around. Suddenly, a hand went over mine. I turned around.
“You need flour?” Sebastian smiled. I nodded my head. He headed towards one of the cabinets and took out a bag of flour, along with some milk. Sebastian began mixing it. "You try," She said. I snatched the wooden spoon from him and mixed away. Sebastian watched me. He sunk his teeth into his bottom lip and moaned as he put his arms around my waist. I gave him a disgusted look, and right when I was about to ask him what he was doing, Marcie came.
"Oh! Sebastian, you pig! I thought you usually fell for boys..." She laughed.
Sebastian turned in surprise. "Go away!" She hissed.
Marcie laughed and skipped off into the living room. He casually stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked away as well
