HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE or HYPERTENSION is an ELEVATED BLOOD PRESSURE more than 120/80 on THREE SEPARATE TIMES when checked by a PHYSICIANS,PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS, or NURSES PRACTIONERS. The cause of hypertension can vary from many different conditions. Some include excessive alcohol consumption, renal artery stenosis, and cushing syndrome.

The SIGNS and SYMPTOMS can be silent for the first twenty years or so until complications appear. It is a very dangerous disease and should be taken very seriously. Some patients can complain of headaches while others don't. When complications arise they may complain from other symptoms related to the affected organs.

The TREATMENT can vary from patient to patient. The PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIANS ASSISTANTS or NURSES PRACTIONERS may ask the patient to make lifestyle changes as well as weight reduction. Exercise more and eat less. With patients that don't improve with these changes the PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIANS ASSISTANTS, or NURSES PRACTIONERS may order medications like antihypertensives, beta blockers and diuretics. Please seek PHYSICIANS, PHYSCIANS ASSISTANTS, or NURSES PRACTIONERS for a PROPER DIAGNOSIS AND CARE.
