Me saying goodbye to someone who once meant so much to me. Based loosely on a situation I'm going through.

Tears stain my face.
I’m saying goodbye.
To him.
It shouldn’t be so hard.
While I am air,
He is the jar holding me in.
While I am the stars,
He is the light blocking me out.
But it is hard.
He stands in front of me,
Confused.
“Can’t we be friends?”
How can we be friends when I hate who you’ve become?
How can I trust you when you’ve betrayed me?
Even though I’m crying,
You guilt me.
“How can you do this to me?”
That gives me strength in a masochistic way.
“You hurt me.”
A simple sentence.
So simple compared to the complex emotions.
He turns away, angry.
He whispers a profanity at me as he leaves.
Goodbye to him, but not the memories.
