These trees provide the solace I need

Consolation for a broken heart

Full off twists and turns

Running through the pine needles, bleeding ankles

You find them hissing past

And through a cobweb of silver lined light

Panic in the woods, scream in fright

Still, these trees are the comfort I crave

Hunger pains, wish away

Fall asleep, still-light dead

A perfect succession

On starry night sounds

Tap on the stars to make a note

Echoes through the trees for solace

A deafened star

With inability to illuminate her skies

Elucidate the highways

Expose the Sunday morning lights and brights

The one that would die

Under the shade of disengagement

Always for solace
