Summary

When my brother died a month ago, i began writing poems to express the indescribable pain that comes along with losing a loved one. This poem could relate to anyone whos experienced this kind of loss.

Here I am

alone to the eye

but in my heart your right by my side

I craw into bed

with the covers over my head

I try to imagine

that it's you warming me instead

my dreams are my comfort zone

because in there you never left

i drift away

to a better place

where our family still remains

the pain subsides

until I open my eyes

and find realtiy creeping back inside

I read Gods word

to understand this madness

but even with wise behind my eyes

there's just no end to this sadness
