In the light i'm everything you want to see
In the dark i'm what you don’t want me to be
I am here to persuade with a smile
And hope you turn your head for a while
That tear you see fall from my eye
Is just a part of this enchanting lie
And you believe every last word
As if Jesus had said what you just heard
but i do feel a hint of guilt
coming through the walls ive built
if i cant feel you, you are not inside
you cant damage my trust or pride
ill be on top of the world for the next few hours
finally feeling as though i have some power.
but when the peak is reached ill quickly fall
and once again i feel so small.
I will breathe some relief into my lungs
or put it on the tip of my tongue and
swallow it with the rest of my dreams
let it dull the urge to scream
I know someday ill want a better life
I hope its not to late to make things right.
