The blade crawls

Across the skin

Pecking at the gates

It’s a sin

You can’t say a word

Can’t cry or there’ll hear

Just take the blade

And the rest is clear

Your arm grows weak

Stinging from the cut

But I can’t stop

Can’t stop

I grow tears in my eyes

Feel weak and distressed

So I pick up the blade

I have to complete my test

One slice, two slice

Down on it goes

If I can’t stop

It’ll go down to my toes

Can’t say a word

Can’t scream or there’ll hear

My arm feels like fire

Burning through the sear

Can’t say a word

Not a word

Ian Dawn

Strong and deliberate I love the emotion you have in this but one thing I noticed and that is the angst of death is missing
