The sky is a beautiful cobalt blue,

I drown in this beautiful hue.

I haven’t seen the world in color

For a long time, and I want to discover.

Most of the time everything is shades of gray,

Monochrome like an old television set.

Living like that, it was hard to have a good day,

It was a heavy weight on my shoulders like bad debt.

I needed an upgrade,

So I’m seeing things in technicolor.

The clouds are puffy and white, outlined in gray.

Every now and again they hide the sun’s rays.

Days on end spent in my bedroom,

The color scheme as suffocating as my own mind.

I guess like a spring flower, I’m just late to bloom,

Took time but some of it’s behind,

Me and now things are getting aligned.

I’m Living in Technicolor,

Breaking free of the monochrome prison.

Like an old tv set I was color blind,

But now I’m living in futuristic technicolor.

Found some wind beneath my wings,

I’m flying higher than Ben Franklin’s kite.

Just like a bird, it’s my time to sing,

And try to fight it with all my might.

I know what it feels to live in gray,

Monochrome with no warmth from sun rays.

Just like mono, it takes months on months to recover,

Kissing disease, probably caught it from a kiss of death.

Now I’m technicolor I might be able to discover,

As reason to fight until my last breath.

I’m breaking free of those chains,

And using the strength of Atlas to throw the world,

Off of my shoulders cause they were getting strained,

It’s time to hang my flag high, get that shit unfurled.

I run that shit up the flagpole,

To signal technicolor won a close match like a fieldgoal.

I’m living in technicolor,

Breaking out of the monochrome prison.

Got out of the black hole,

Escaping the lonely atoll.

No longer color blind,

I can see clearly now,

Living in Technicolor.
