I was deleting my SMSs on my mobile when I stumbled across some from a friend of mine who I recently had an argument with. I was reading through them and remembering all about our friendship. This is the result.
Dedicated to my friends who like it so much!

Like a simple button on a keyboard
Like an insignificant ‘cancel’ on my mobile
I’m taking my time
To look over it all
And just press ‘delete’ on these painful memories.
Over look it all but stop for a moment
And laugh while I read your SMSs…
Grin as I see the late night conversations we’d have…
Doze off as its getting late.
But then you call, laughing at some silly joke
Or crying at some unfortunate event.
And we’d lower our voices and speak ‘till the end
Of the darkness.
It would be fun.
We were the best of friends.
And I wish we’d go back to that.
Which is why, tonight
I’m pressing ‘cancel’ on all my read messages,
Dozing off as its getting late…
And hoping you’d call so we could talk
‘Till the end of the darkness.
