Something I wrote during Chemistry class.
Seen through the eyes of a student.
High School can be boring sometimes...

I aimlessly stare through glass windows
Watching the clouds drift by,
Listening to children squeal in the background,
Watching the birds freely fly.

Students are glassy-eyed as we write down our notes,
Most are snoring their heads off.
I look at my papers, at meaningless numbers.
Someone gives a dry cough.

The bell rings.
Another teacher leaves.
Another forty minutes lost.

And I lay my head on my soft sleeve.
I let out a deep sigh.
Looking at the watch I read the numbers.
To do so much in so little time…

There’s still so much time before school ends
And all efforts to bear it come out bad.
But High School has a countdown of two or three years
Then, strangely, I leave…sad.

For my sake I’ll try to make it through
Just so I can pass to University…
But just so you know, I’ll find it hard:
I can’t stay awake in Biology!
