I’ve run this course a million time.
I’ve vaulted that hurdle too.
I’ve climbed that rope.
I’m gonna miss it.
Ever since my stupid leg stopped working.
Now I can’t do it anymore.
They told me I could get a new leg.
A mechanical one.
But then, the kids would tease me…
“Cyborg!” “Tin Man!” “Metal leg!”
“Spastic!”
I hate it.
I can’t swim.
I can’t run.
I can’t do anything anymore.
I’m not an athlete anymore.
I’m a…nobody.
