Weeping Rose

In the wake of my fears come to pass

Left with a brittle heart of glass

Unable to breathe any sigh of relief

Liable is my well known thief

A deceptive charlatan represented with roses

Watches the petals wither as the beauty decomposes

The future once a dazzling dream

Is left to shrivel and sail downstream

Deserted by the power of ignorance

Trapped in my emotional wilderness

Emanating from the depths within

Replacing the vital fluid with horrified chagrin

At no time was there warning

And two are now left mourning

Anguish and loss radiates in waves

Insanity found in those who can be brave

Love falsified and ineffectual

Left unnoticed to the best intellectuals

Belated departures, delayed goodbyes

Guided to a new wave of cries

A loss too big even the ocean can’t swallow

This demolished heart will not love again tomorrow

The affliction and ache from deep inside

Akin with the turbulence of a riptide

A raspy voice crying out in the night

Only a weeping rose in sight
