Writing prompt exercise - Request: A Day in the LIfe of a Lacemaker

Dagur and Rae discuss a day in the life of a lacemaker.

Rae: "So, I picked something up from trader Johann."

Dagur: "What? I hope you didn't spend too much on whatever it was."

Rae: "Oh, quit your whining. It was this." *Holds up lace*

Dagur: "What is that?"

Rae: "I don't know. It's some sort of strange cloth. It's neat though, huh?"

Dagur: *Pokes it with a finger* "It will hardly hold up in battle. It'll tear right off!"

Rae: "Yeah, well... I found it interesting."

Dagur: "It's creepy, that's what it is. It looks like a spider web. Eugh!"

Rae: "Wow, you're right, it does!"

Dagur: "Where did he get it?"

Rae: "I don't know, he didn't say. Something about not revealing his sources."

Dagur: "You should have threatened him."

Rae: "I did! But not even a blade to the throat helped any."

Dagur: *Stares at the lace as if it's about to murder him* "I don't like it. It looks like it could be cursed. I mean... Who would be making this?"

Rae: "I don't know."

Dagur: "Can you imagine the person who made it? They're probably some creepy old hag, or... Or... A giant spider!"

Rae: "Why do you think a giant spider would even be bothered to weave something to trade to Johann?"

Dagur: "I didn't say they traded it to him, he probably stole it. But, if they did, they probably cursed it first!"

Rae: "Well, I like it. And I'm sure this took hours of work."

Dagur: *Shudders* "I bet they're a human spider hybrid monster. And they sit around all day weaving this cloth of doom. They'll probably sit in a darkened hut, a small fire burning in the hearth."

Rae: *Looks at the lace, then back at Dagur*

Dagur: "They'll probably cackle while sucking on the blood of orphans."

Rae: "Ew."

Dagur: "Trader Johann trades in orphans! I knew it!"

Rae: *Facepalms*
