So last night, I waited with bated breath until near the very end, the "Best Actor" nominees were up. Out of five, Heath was one who was sorely missed.

I watched as the celebrities, men and women, began to tear up as he was remembered.

As I am sure you all know, Heath died tragically of an accidental overdose on January 22, 2008.

On the other hand, he lives on in his three year old girl, Matilda Rose.

The last chapter of Heath's life has almost concluded, but not quite yet, some say.

The crowd and I waited with bated breath as the middle man pulled out the little card from the wax sealed envelope and read out:

"The winner of the nomination for the Best Actor Award is...

HEATH LEDGER!"

And so Heath Ledger was anounced the winner of the Oscar.

The crowd cheered--and cried-- at this bittersweet moment as his family --mom, dad, and eldest sister, Kate--went up to accept his award. Their speeches were touching and all the same, they were very proud.

I understand that the award is going to Heath's daughter when she comes of age. I've also heard rumors stating that Heath's ex-girlfriend, MIchelle Williams is to hold onto it for Matilda.

As we all know, the tragic event that took Heath's life made Hollywood a stronger, and "stranger" place. The word's that I hold most dear to my heart and the word's I now leave you with from Heath's well known "Joker" character: "What doesn't kill you simply makes you...stranger."
