HELP ME!

So I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled next week and I’m so scared! I have no idea what I’m going to do! I’ve heard so many horror stories about swelling, dry socket, infections, losing feeling in the mouth, broken jaws, stitches, bleeding…OH THE HORROR! BLOOD OMG! I don’t know how I’ll survive. I hate needles so much and I don’t know what I’m ever to do! I’m so scared and horrified and I’m such a baby. I hear about stories where people wake up in the middle of the surgery, or people get sick the following night cuz the anesthetic disagrees with their stomach. I have to get all four pulled out, and I am so nervous and scared and scared and scared…GOD I’m SCARED! Help me? Any advice or stories of your own? PLEASE TELL ME!

So my roommate got all four of her teeth removed. I took her there and back. She said it wasn't nearly as bad as she had been expecting it. She was really loopy the first day and tired, but was pretty much back to herself by the next day. She said it hurt a little but as long as she remember to take the pain medicine they give you, it was not a problem.

Also she said the weirdest thing was getting used to not having teeth back there anymore. Good luck & I'm sure it will go fine! :D

my advice is to calm down, seriously. your anxiety is making/going to make it worse. it's not great, i'm sure... but not the end of the world either. i don't mean to sound mean at all... i think i may, but i'm just trying to help .') it's all good buddy... you'll see a pretty rainbow or cloud in the sky 3 weeks after it's all over with :)

oh, and i would stop reading about it. just live your life and when the time comes go in and just do it. it's not likely to be all bloody and gory and all that other stuff that you mentioned... they remove teeth all the time... it's not that bad. (and the audio player on this page doesn't seem to be working)

lol you're not mean...you're being rational, unlike how I am. I SCREAM AT SPIDERS AND RUN VERY FAR AWAY! So, I'm not the queen of ration. I am, however, a mature seventeen year old who knows when good advice should be taken. Thanks, I shall stop reading about it now and you're absolutely right.

Getting a tooth removed (teeth in your case) is worth little angst on your part. Just remember, your face will be a little numb, you'll probably drool on yourself and your friends will point and laugh. They'll give you good medicine that will make your body feel light as a feather, everything will be "okay". In the chair, you'll be out for all of 15 minutes, it is far and few inbetween that you'll wake up, and even if that were to happen (which I'll put money down that it won't) you wouldn't feel a thing. Gargle with a mild solution of salt and water after it's done on a daily basis and you'll be on your way to a healthy mouth.

Don't stress about it. I got mine out earlier this year. Its not that bad. Just avoid straws for the first little while and follow the dentists orders. I got all four done at the same time too. Its not to bad unless they're impacted (hit your other teeth), and even when they are, it just takes a little longer for everything to heal. Believe me, you'll feel alot better as soon as its over with.

My brother got his pulled a few days before we went camping. He was out of it after and really tired. He couldn't eat much, it had to be cold or soft (liiiike jell-o.
He was in pain the day they were done and a little bit the few days after, He had T 3's he took and had this mouth wash to keep it clean.
