A comparison of young and old.

Children and Adults

By M. E. Riddle

Children have tummies

Adults have guts.

Children say, “Its yummie”

Adults say, “It’s alright”.

Children say, “I love you”

Adults say, “I want you”.

Sometimes, adults do say

“I love you”.

 But rarely.

Children say, “Mommy and Daddy”.

Adults say “Those ashtrays”.

Children play

Adult’s war.

Children dream

Adult’s scheme.

Children grow older

Adults get younger.

Older then

Younger now.
