Rain

By M. E. Riddle

Thinking of my dad

His life, his strife

He was my reason

My mentor, my life.

Living in a hotel room

Hoping it would rain

In a strange room

Shadowed in pain.

I want the sky

To fill with tears

I want the sunset

To glow without fear.

I want my life

To be alright

I want to sleep

I want my wife.
