For my love, Haylie.

To stumble through, the gates of love.

The hangers on, this love so tough,

To gnaw away the tiny bones,

But anyway, this road we chose.

It's littered now, with tattered hearts,

So flowers come, to heal the scars,

That passing smile, it's beautiful.

And tells me all I need to know.

You're the one, the one I bleed,

If ever any signs I need.

A tiny hand, encased in mine,

Betrays the sparkle behind your eyes.

I ask myself, is courage enough?

To bleed for you, and reach the end,

We'll not be saved, but together somehow,

The love we craved,

Each stolen breath, and heartsong smile,

Each angry word, and bitter scowl.

Together every single day,

And I know this time my heart wont sway,

From wanting you, needing you,

And loving you

To eternity.

Strong metre.

Strong thoughts.

Tennyson rules! I like that you use the old fashioned structures to convey modern emotion. OK, no emotion is modern, I mean... you know what I mean.

I really liked this one, it flowed so well. Loved that line "That passing smile. Its beautiful. And it tells me all I need to know." Thanks for sharing!
