Like a rose with thorns,

Like a star which the night adorns.

Caressed it daily with love,

But soon push came to shove.

Love wasn't enough anymore,

Though it flowed out every pore.

You wanted to fly and soar,

And left me stranded by the shore.

I thought two made one,

And now two turns out to be none.

I guess math wasn't ever my thing,

Life with you was winter in the spring.

I once gave a scorpion a ring,

And all I have left is the sting.

Pain is what you've left behind,

A broken heart, and a twisted mind.
