Screams are heard from inside,

Like thunder they scare me and I hide.

Though I can't make out the words,

I can tell they ask for help and my insides stirr.

They get louder as I pretend to sleep,

Then the fear slowly begins to creep.

Agony and pain flow from the screams,

Clouds and darkness hide the sun's beams.

Louder and louder calling my name,

Though I try, my fear I cannot tame.

Screams from inside my own soul,

And I ask why, pretending not to know.
