As he drives home late at night

With a silent tear rolling down his cheek
He wonders:
How did he get to this point?
When did he leave his happiness behind?

It doesn't make sense
He's always played by the rules
But others cheat him
Others betray him
And break him down
He is reaching the breaking point
The point of no return
As he drives he wonders who would miss him if his car ended up in a ditch?
Who would notice his absence in class?
The sudden end to a daily text
Who would truly miss him

He drives home late at night
With a silent tear wandering down his face
He wonders:
Why?
