With Heart In Hand

Steal a kiss and run
is all I’ve ever played.
Spend the night for fun
and I’ve been so afraid
no one else would see,
something else should be my life.

They’ve all walked away.
No one ever dared
take a step to stay.
There’s so much to be shared.
With heart in hand I stand,
bent and humbly offering my love.

A love that’s not a game,
as winners often claim,
when losers were not playing.
A love that will remain
though not remain the same
made constant by staying.

You love me so it seems
and seeming is for dreams
but dreaming can be smart.
A love that will withstand
is love my love demands
for living in my heart.

Be my love.
Come truly be by love.
There’s more to see in love
than you and I.

I long to bring our love.
I long to sing our love;
make everything our love
until it stands.

Then will it take its’ own
and saunter forth to roam
across the hills of fear
shouting its’ name  -

So unashamed.
